Conception Paysage cantonale Valais

Project for the Territorial Development Service of the Canton of Valais

In collaboration with the Pleine Terre agency and for the Canton of Valais, we designed the website dedicated to the Cantonal Landscape Conception (CPc). This platform provides a key to understanding Valais landscapes and their challenges, through an interactive map, a resource library and a landscape assessment tool in the form of a quiz. Aimed at both territorial professionals and the general public, the site promotes the \"landscape reflex\" by integrating the landscape dimension as early as possible into projects and planning.

The web development project dedicated to the Cantonal Landscape Conception of Valais (CPC VS) is part of an ambitious approach: making a complex technical document accessible, engaging and educational, while addressing a varied audience.
In close collaboration with the landscape architecture firm Pleine Terre, our web agency took on this challenge by designing an intuitive, dynamic and visually distinctive platform, embodying both institutional rigour and an innovative approach to landscape mediation.

A user-centred architecture:
To meet the varied needs of users, we designed a flexible and intuitive structure:
  • A personalised quiz "Mon Paysage": This tool allows users to discover content in a playful and tailored way. Quiz responses dynamically filter information, offering a bespoke experience.
  • An interactive map: Users can explore landscapes through overlay layers, visualising different information layers (qualities, challenges, objectives).
  • A landscape grid and resources page: For more traditional navigation, a comprehensive list of landscapes and a dedicated resources section (documents, links, training) are available.

A modern and flexible technical platform:
The site combines WordPress in headless mode with a customised interface via ACF, offering powerful yet intuitive content management. This architecture enables a fluid and responsive user experience, while facilitating updates and project scalability. Everything is optimised for multilingual display (FR/DE) and simplified administration.

This project demonstrates how design, technology and pedagogy can combine to create an engaging user experience. The CPC VS website goes beyond informing: it encourages active ownership of landscape issues, by offering interactive and personalised tools. Thanks to this collaboration, CPC VS becomes a concrete lever for embedding the "landscape reflex" in cantonal and municipal practices.
